Run for Mental Health

Thursday 21st May
My name is Kyle, and some of you may know I lost my father to his silent battle with mental illness when I was 19.

I was recently inspired to challenge myself to train towards beating his time in the half-marathon - and thought, why not elevate this to where a difference can be made in others' lives?

Dad was born September 12, 1970, and would’ve turned 56 this year. I am aiming to run 560k by his birthday on September 12, and raise $1970.

All the money goes directly to the Alberta Mental Health Society, where they work in people's lives and mental health research, aiming to lower suicide rates, and increase quality of life for those suffering from mental health and illness disorders.

For those reading this who have lost or suffered in any way due to mental health, you are not alone. If you feel able and inclined to donate to help me reach this goal, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Runs will be shared on my strava - (kyle skripitsky) as well as my instagram story every sunday (kyleskrip)

 As dad would always say,

Cheers.

Dear Kyle, I grew up down the street from your dad in Scarborough and your Aunt Lara is my best friend so I spent a lot of time at 7 Paulander with their family. He would be so proud of you and how you are supporting others in your journey of healing. I think of your dad and your family often. A dear friend and mentor of mine recently took his own life and it has been hard to understand. Thank you for your strength and care. Hope the runs are going well! Go Kyle!
