Hey y’all, my name is Myles Dininio.

For those who know me – hello – and for those who don’t, thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

Twenty-two years ago, at eighteen, I rode my mountain bike from Mount Albert, Ontario, to Nelson, British Columbia. Somewhere along that journey, a seed was planted: a dream of one day running across the country – and using that challenge to raise money for a cause bigger than myself.

I’m forty now, married to my wife Jessica, and the proud father of two beautiful children, Oliver and Florence – and that long-held plan is finally becoming reality.

On April 1st, I’ll begin running in Newfoundland, with the goal of covering approximately 8,000 kilometres over four and a half months, finishing in Vancouver. Along the way, I’ll rely on the generosity of family, friends, and willing strangers to help drive a camper beside me – for logistical help, safety, and shared moments on the road. I’ll also be documenting the trip on social media as it unfolds.

Today, I’m asking for your support.

I’ve chosen to dedicate this run to CAMH, Canada’s leading mental health hospital. One in five Canadians experiences mental illness in any given year, and more than 4,000 Canadians die by suicide annually – nearly eleven people every day.

Mental health has touched my life personally through loss – an experience that has forever changed me. I’ve also faced my own struggles – dark days when motivation was hard to find and the weight of life’s challenges quietly piled up. Mental health isn’t something I’ve “overcome”; it’s something I continue to tend to, day by day. This run isn’t just about distance – it’s about acknowledging how much unseen effort it can take to keep moving forward.

Through this run, I hope to raise awareness of the very real impact mental illness can have. These funds can give individuals time to access care, families time to heal, and researchers and clinicians the resources to develop new and better treatments. If even one life is saved, every step will be worth it.

My fundraising goal is $50,000 – and I can’t reach it alone. I know this is a big ask, but meaningful change happens when we show up for one another. I hope you’ll consider supporting this cause by making a tax-deductible donation.
